This 2015 is flying by, and so big love day is upon us. Well, whether it really is the love day or not is quite debatable. It looks like we are being pushed to either do something romantic on the day if we’re not single or dream about it if we are. Pressure is on us, although I’m sure it is fun to create marketing campaigns around this topic. Contradictory as it may look like, I do enjoy doing that.

Lists of romantic destinations or things to do on St Valentine’s day in the media can also help us discover something new and exciting. As I believe that we can definitely enjoy them throughout the year, I thought I’d put together a list of some of my top romantic places in London so far. What other romantic spots or activities have you seen?

Parliament and Primrose Hill, Hampstead Heath

This is just one of the views from the hill. You can’t say it is not a romantic spot for a walk or a picnic if it happens to be dry. Yes, I have seen people picnic-ing during winter. Crazy and different if you can cope with the cold.

Just in case I have not persuaded you yet, check this is one of the ponds in Hampstead Hill two years ago. Can you imagine this one with warmer weather?

St Paul’s from the Millennium Bridge

Apologies for the quality of the image (that Nexus…), but this is a quite a romantic spot, especially in the evening, when the lights and shadows make it appear more dramatic. In fact, I find that this is true of other buildings in London, such as the Royal Courts of Justice.

A view from the Shard

I took this picture from a trendy bar and restaurant where a friend celebrated her birthday. If you can make an effort and become a bit poorer afterwards, the view is rather nice.

Late nights and outdoor exhibitions
