Formula 1 in London Streets
How would you like the streets of London to become a F1 circuit? Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton have recently said that they were involved in the design of the circuit for a grand prix in London. There are some videos of a simulation at the bottom of this entry.
So, what do you think about the whole idea?
When I first read about it,it was quite silly. We are having enough traffic problems already in London, let alone Central London. But, I can see it could be a bit of a dream for F1 based in London and the surroundings.
The circuit is 5.1 km long, and it has been designed to drive past iconic landmarks, such as the Big Ben or Buckingham Palace. I think that Monte Carlo and Singapore have street circuits too. So, why not London?
Every F1 circuit is a bit different from the others. For example, there was this one in Brazil which seemed to be a bit harder than the rest. I wonder what the drivers feel it is the difficulty level of the suggested London circuit in a 1 to 10 scale.
By seeing the CGI pics below, I think it would be a great thing to do as a tourist. That is, driving or being driven past those landmarks at night. Quite pretty, isn´t it? London by night is beautiful and exciting.
Now, the F1 drivers would not really enjoy that at all, as they would only focus on their driving to get firs to the finishing line – and alive!

We have a F1 race in Toronto every year. It pretty much shuts everything else down but it is a pretty exciting event and pretty much everyone gets caught up in the excitement.
I just wonder if it would be the same in London town, everybody getting excited and for many years.
