The Usual Suspects
I somehow missed taking a walk around the Notting Hill area. Nothing has changed that much since I was there last year or so for the last time, which made me have mixed feelings. On the one hand, it was good to see that most of the activity was there, the daily street market, the buzz and urban art pieces such as the Usual Suspects.
On the other hand, I was half expecting much less activity in the area. With most of the shops open already, locals and some tourists did their daily shopping as usual or strolled around. With the current situation, I was there only because I coudn’t avoid it. Maybe, some of those people found themselves in the same situation.
Some iconic street art pieces have been vandalised in the interim, reminding us of the times we’re living in. The piece below is still a must see when visiting the area. It is very close to where the Notting Hill movie was filmed, which still is a great tourist destination despite the many years since the movie was released.
I just love having all those great artists in one piece: Picasso, Basquiat, Keith Haring, etc. I wonder why Keith Haring’s name hasn’t been written there, especially as he is the least popular. Enjoy!
